Nitin Gadkari , Union Minister said that the Centre will continue to work for the development of Assam despite what the results of the Assam Assembly polls will be.
Both at the Centre and the state level, “ the issue of the illegal immigrants coming into the state” will be addressed if the same- party government is formed.
“Even if BJP is defeated and Congress comes to power, we will continue to develop infrastructure in Assam. There will be no politics with development. Recently I announced package for development of roads in Bihar,” the Union Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister told a press conference in Guwahati.
He added that if the Centre will continue to support the Assam, fulfilling the needs of the people of Assam even if party doesn’t come to the power.

He further added that in the next 5 years, people will work more in the upcoming 5 years as compared to the work that has been done in the past 50-60 years. In order to develop Assam, Congress had got enough chances in the past 60 years. Assam was in 5th position at the time of independence and now it is the 4th poorest state in India.
In North east, for the development of the Infrastructure an investment of Rs 1,00,000 crore have been sanctioned and Rs 40,000 crore have already been granted to him.

Development of Assam and North east are the main focus of Narendra Modi, accordingly in order to develop water,rail and road network, he added.
In Assam , for the first phase of polling,talked about the high turnout and claimed “ it is a verdict for a change .” said Gadkari
He further added that under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal, they will get full majority. Congress was biggest help, in this direction because of the corruption and misrule.
