Tarun Gogoi said that in Assam Assembly elections Congress will fight and it be majorly “against the unfair treatment” from Modi and the central government.
“Our fight in the April polls is going to be against the wrong policies of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government and Prime Minister Modi against Assam and the injustice meted out to the state and other part of the region,” Mr Gogoi told reporters.
He also added that in Assam ,Sonowal and the “lawmakers” from Bhartiya Janta Party had failed in state to take up the issues and before the central government region.
“So if we do not fight for the rights of the people of Assam, who will?”
He further said that over central government policies that are wrong and injustice,they have the “the capacity and capability” to fight against them.
“We have been fighting for last two years and we can fight.”
The Assam chief minister also said that they these parties are ‘power-hungry’ ,alliance between Bhartiya Janta Party and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is the biggest proof of this.
“There is no common minimum programme between them and both the parties are different ideologically. And yet the first thing they did after having the alliance is seat sharing,” said Mr Gogoi.
In the last 15 years,Congress had done remarkable work in Assam and people of Assam for progress and development in the state will vote for Congress again he added.
He also wished all the best wishes to Kamakhya Prasad Tasha, Lok Sabha lawmaker Bhartiya Janta Party and Sarbananda Sonowal Bhartiya Janta Party, Assam President.
From home district of Tarun Gogoi, Chief Minister Assam Sarbananda Sonowal is set to contest from Jorhar, Majuli Assembly constituency.
In Titabor Assembly constituency,Kamakhya Prasad Tasha is in opposition with Tarun Gogoi .
According to Gogoi if he had done some good work in Titabor and people of Titabor are happy with it,then they’ll vote for him,he wants to give all the best wishes to Kamakhya Prasad Tasha.
