To take on Trinamool Congress led Mamata Banerjee , Left and Congress are expected to forge an alliance for Bengal elections 2016 that are just months away and into the state trying to make inroads.
Trinamool Congress created history by dethroning the Left during the last Assembly polls, that had ruled the state for more than 3 decades. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections Congress had suffered a demeaning defeat.
Congress has no other option but to align with the Left.In West Bengal,Congress is trying very forcefully to make an alliance however Congress high command is yet to consider on that matter.
Trinamool Congress had openly supported GST Bill. This is giving signals that after the Assembly polls,Trinamool Congress might side with the Modi-led NDA.
Congress assured that it might go with the Left but not with Bhartiya Janta Party .In Bengal, for the upcoming elections, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee CPI(M) leader last week said that he wants such an alliance in order to dethrone Trinamool Congress.
“Lots of people are talking about the alliance. You need to understand why people are talking about the alliance, because they are demanding that all of us fight together to oust TMC from power,” Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said.
According to Bhattacharjee “There may be differences – differences” In order to defeat Trinamool Congress there is a single point and that is we all have to fight together.
A member from the Congress party said that In Bengal if the CPI-M with an alliance goes forward with its greatest rivals, the CPI-M in Kerala will certainly have to face the heat.
At the same time,Bengal and Kerala will go for the polls. In Bengal, if CPI-M wants to tie up ,Bhartiya Janta Party is very much certain that it will take up this issue of this new found alliance to its maximum.
For upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections,’the grand old party’,which is going through a very bad phase closed an alliance with Karunanidhi-led DMK.
