Mamata talks about Principles for CPM-Congress Alliance

In Bengal ahead of Assembly elections the alliance between CPM and Congress was said to be “completely unprincipled”.

“The very CPM that used to call Rajiv Gandhi as Bofors Gandhi, and called Indira Gandhi a cruel woman, that CPM is now saying come and hold my hand. It is wrong. They are sacrificing principles. They are saying to us, what will happen to you if we form an alliance? Nothing will happen to us.” Miss Banerjee said in Kolkata at the Netaji Indoor Stadium while addressing the party workers.

As per Mamata’spolitical rivals With both the parties Bhartiya Janta Party and Congress ,Mamata Banerjee had made alliance in the past and switched as per her wishes and will, and further added that ‘she has no right to lecture on principles’

According to Adhir Chowdhury, Chief of state Congress at least 3 different times Banerjee had held hands with Bhartiya Janta Party and even after Godhra she stayed with NDA government and added that ‘How can she talk about principles’.

Bhartiya Janta Party was only mentioned only once during the speech by Mamata Banerjee.

On strategy of poll where state unit was held by CPM and a meeting was conducted internally had agreed for an alliance with the Congress.

“People on the ground want an alliance. Let’s not make another historic mistake,” the CPM leaders reportedly said.

“Talk of principles from her (Mamata Banerjee) is not acceptable,” PM’s Sujan Chakraborty echoed Mr Chowdhury.

“TMC and Mamata are a byproduct of opportunism” said by Om Prakash Mishra Congress member.

He further added that With Bhartiya Janta Party,Mamata Banerjee has a habit of conjugating. When politics is concerned Banerjee has no principles at all ‘so far’. Banerjee is worried about the impact of the alliance.

TMC also claims that there number will increase. Congress and Left says that both the parties strong sentiment against TMC. ‘An alliance’ claimed by the parties, they ensure that the share of votes against TMC are not split
