Pargat Singh and Navjot Kaur Set to Join Congress

Putting a halt to all the speculations, Amrinder singh finally announced the inclusion of Navjot Kaur and Pargat singh in the congress party. The two will officially join the party on November 28, Amrinder Said. Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former cricketer and husband of Navjot Kaur is also likely to join the Congress party in the near future.

Punjab Congress chief Amrinder singh welcomed Pargat Singh and Navjot kaur with open arms stating that their inclusion will further strengthen party’s stand for the forthcoming elections and will boost morale even more.

Captain Amrinder Singh said, “I am pleased to announce that Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu and Pargat Singh will be formally joining Congress on November 28”. he also added that Awaz-e-Punjab chief Navjot Singh, his wife Navjot Kaur and Partgat had a meeting with the congress high command before they came to this big decision and sealed the deal with congress.

According to sources, Pargat Singh and Dr Navjot Kaur met the congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi followed by a meeting with Captain Amrinder Singh at his residence. The two briefly discussed about their roles and formalities of them joining the party. However, Navjot Singh Sidhu was absent from the meeting since he was in Mumbai, he too is likely to be there in the official inclusion of his wife and aide on 28th November. If rumors are to be believed, Sidhu himself may also join Congress on the same day. Prior to this, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Navjot Kaur were in BJP whereas Pargar Singh who is a former captain of the India hockey team was an MLA from the reigning Shiromani Akali Dal.

Not a long ago, Navjot Singh Sidhu along with Bains brother and Partgat Singh formed a forum named “Awaz-e-Punjab” for people who wished to worked for the betterment of Punjab but later refused to form a separate party out of the fear of splitting incumbency votes. The Bains brothers recently joined AAP where as Sidhu and Pargat Singh seem all set to join hands with the Congress party.
