Narendra Modi is Prime Minister of India. Presently, he is the member of Parliament from Varanasi and he is one of the most important leader of Bhartiya Janta Party.For 4 times, he has been Gujarat’s Chief Minister.

Family and Personal Background of Narendra Modi

Narendra Damodardas Modi comes from the family of grocers, a town called Vadnagar in the northern Mehsana district of the state of Gujarat. He was born on 17 September 1950.His parents are Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Heeraben Modi. Out of 6 siblings, he is the third eldest.

Against all the hard ships and odds, he completed his studies. He used to run a tea stall near a railway station in Ahmedabad, when he was in his teens. He completed his schooling from Vadnagar and obtained a master’s degree in Political Science from the Gujarat University. He was an average student but a brilliant debater in the school said by the school teacher. Modi worked as a pracharak (promoter) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) when he was in college.

Political Career of Narendra Modi

Modi had always been inclined to serve and help the people who are in need. In 1965, when he was a young boy during the Indo-Pak war, Modi voluntarily offered his services to the soldiers at the railway stations. During the 1967 floods of Gujarat, he started working in the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation’s staff canteen. After that he became a full time a full-time proponent and campaigner, commonly called a pracharak of the RSS. In Nagpur, he later went on the training in the RSS camp. For getting any official position in the Sangh Parivar, it is a prerequisite for any RSS member to take up the training course. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), is a student wing which was given in charge to Narendra Modi.
