Sukhbir Badal, rejects AAP as power in state and said that upcoming Punjab elections will be contested between traditional rivals Congress and his Akali Dal.

“AAP will be wiped out, it will be third,” the Akali Dal leader told NDTV, as he drove down the road to Ballachor, in his SUV, a Mitsubishi Montero, stopping in villages for ‘sangat darshans’ or public meetings.

Akali Dal is still projecting Parkaash Singh Badal as its chief ministerial candidate.

Sukhbir Badal’s evaulation of AAP’s chances of winning are at not very high as Kejriwal who after watching the crowd of young people at his rallies is sensing that people need change. The Akali Dal has been in power for 10 years with Sukhir Badal serving as deputy to the CM.

Congress and AAP are waiting for a strong loophole against the Badals. They have attacked them for the rise in drug abuse among the youth in Punjab.

Badal said that Punjab has been wrongly branded as the hub of drug abuse. “The way the whole country has blamed Punjab is wrong. We have less drug consumption than even Maharashtra or any other state. If you look at statistics put forward in parliament on the number of people who died because of drugs, Maharashtra was number 1 we were 12,” the deputy chief minister asserts.

He rejected AAP’s claim that Punjab’s young vote who said that they had a youth function and thousands people participated. Their student organisation won the last elections of the university.

He added that Congress-AAP are trying to keep Akali Dal out.

“There is more quid pro quo between the Congress and AAP because they have been partners in Delhi,” Mr Badal alleged.

Himmat Singh Shergill, AAP member said that they are intimidating people and Punjab people are going to vote for them. They are only promoting their own family. Sukhbir Badal ace in lying.
