Amarinder Singh , chief of Punjab Congress had asked AAP why they are “scared of probe” into the “desecration” of religious book in Malerkotla.
“Given the anarchic proclivities and subversive tendencies of AAP, nothing can be ruled out at this stage,” he said here, while referring to a case registered against AAP, MLA in the “Malerkotla sacrilege incident.”
Singh asked that if AAP believes that Naresh Yadav, AAP’s MLA who has appeared to be a main suspect, was really innocent why it did not trust the courts.
During an event to formally welcome Asha Kumari, AICC secretary in charge for Punjab.Amarinder Singh, asked Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister about his claims over honesty and integrity after Rajendra Kumar, Principal Secretary was arrested by the CBI over corruption charges.
He said Kumar had frequently been removed during Sheila Dikshit’s term over graft complaints and still Kejriwal chosen him to be his Principal Secretary.
He added that Arvind Kejriwal has lived with unrealistic belief and a myth that he is the only one honest surviving “living being on earth” and his myth has been completely “exposed and exploded”.Singh pointed out how he trusted the matters of his government with a person whose integrity was always “suspected” and “doubtful”.
When told that Kejriwal was claiming it to be vendetta by Modi, the former Chief Minister retorted, “when ED issued notices to my son at the behest of Arun Jaitley, the AAP leaders went into a mad race to authenticate and validate those baseless charges and now when they have themselves felt the heat, they are crying vendetta.”
Singh said that AAP’s manifesto is a “carbon copy” of what Congress did not announced yet.
He added that it is so absurd that those who drafted their manifesto could not even adjust it a bit to make it look different from the stolen document. he said that AAP must them tell them what is distinct and different about their manifesto, which Congres have still not announced already.
Kumari, the new Congress in charge for Punjab, Amarinder Singh said her presence will give strength to the party and as he requested the party cadres and leaders to close their ranks to form the government in the Punjab.
“The Akalis are down in the dumps and AAP has already been exposed in Delhi and what they have been doing in Punjab,” he said, while asking the party workers to reach out to the people.
Kumari said she felt honoured and privileged to have an opportunity to work in Punjab. She added that she had worked with Amarinder Singh in 2002 elections.
She have been given extra responsibility and she hopes with support and cooperation, she will be able to better this time. Ambika Soni, Party general secretary and the chairperson of the Punjab Congress Campaign Committee said that Under the leadership of Amarinder there was complete unity, among the rank and file and displays confidence on Congress, winning the assembly elections.
