Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that they will declare the names of all candidates for the Punjab assembly election that are going to take place next year by end of June.
Sanjay Singh, senior AAP leader and in-charge of Punjab Affairs said that the candidates names on 117 seats in Punjab will be declared by the end of June. He added that the first list of the candidates will be out by the end of May.
In order to to find out suitable candidates, AAP had constituted a 16-member election campaign committee and 5-member screening committee.
He further added that AAP volunteer meeting at booth, circle and zonal levels will be held in each assembly constituency and then candidates in Jalandhar, who want to contest polls will have to submit their bio-data at party office within 3 days.
Election Campaign Committee after selecting the possible candidates will send their names to the screening committee, Screeing committee will interview them and after that , names of shortlisted candidates will be send to AAP’s political affairs committee. Political affairs committee will finalise the names of candidates.
People who are facing corruption and criminal charges will not be given AAP’s ticket for contesting the elections and If it was later found, any candidate had deliberately had hidden information about their criminal or corruption charges, his candidature will be terminated.

Singh claimed that in Punjab elections, AAP would repeat the historic win registered in Delhi poll.
AAP’s 16-member election campaign committee will consists of Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Bhawant Mann, Sadhu Singh, Himmat Singh Shergill, Harjot Bains, Baljinder Kaur among others.
AAP’s 5 member screening committee will have Sanjay Singh, Durgesh Pathak, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Bhagwant Mann and Sadhu Singh.
SAD’s accused of destruction of of ‘Piao Sahib’ at Gurdwara Sisganj Sahib in Delhi by AAP’s government, Singh denied the charges and alleged that Piao Sahib was wrecked by BJP ruled MCD Delhi and Police under Central government. He said that SAD was making false accusations against AAP.
On the issue of SYL, Singh said that AAP was with Punjab people .
