Arvind Kejriwal,Delhi Chief Minister said that in Punjab Elections, Aam Aadmi Party is going to win,he also added that former cricketer and Bhartiya Janta Party Leader is welcome to join AAP,if he wants to join the party.The elections in Punjab are due for early 2017.
“I won’t be surprised if Delhi results are repeated in Punjab,” Mr Kejriwal said, responding to a question at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.
Of total 70 Assembly seats,Aam Aadmi Party won 67 seats ,majority in 2015 elections which was record breaking.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, former Bhartiya Janta Party lawmaker from Punjab is very much welcome to join Aam Aadmi Party ,with Bhartiya Janta Party his relations have been very much strained lately.
In 2014 he was denied a party ticket from his old constituency in Amritsar said by Arvind Kejriwal, , the convener of 3 year old party.
AAP has been trying to reach Navjot Singh Sidhu in order to head the party’s campaign.However the talks between two have been denied by Arvind Kejriwal.
“If Navjot Sidhu comes to the party he will be welcomed, but there have been no talks yet,” Mr Kejriwal said.
The reports on handing over the reins of government of Delhi to Manish Sisodia, deputy and in Punjab taking over party’s leadership has been denied by Arvind Kejriwal and also added that ‘he is completely focused in Delhi.’
“I’m only working for Delhi. I’ve only left Delhi only twice since I came to power,” he said.
Is Navjot All Set To Say BJP Good Bye?
Navjot Singh Sidhu, Amritsar former MP of Bhartiya Janta Party is displeased with the leadership of party. In spite of representing from Amritsar in Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2014, Navjot Singh Sidhu was denied a ticket for the 3rd time.
Ahead of the Assembly election in Punjab, speculations are that Sidhu may join Kejriwal’s AAP that are going to held in 2017.
“We will welcome a person with a clean image. We will welcome Navjot Singh Sidhu if he wants to join AAP,” Kejriwal had said recently while responding to a question regarding Sidhu.
Sanjay Singh in-charge of Punjab AAP’s ‘refused to divulge’ in any kind of details and Sidhu’s move was reported as ‘mere media speculation’. “ Singh, however, echoed Kejriwal’s statement that any politician with a clean image would be welcome in the party.”
“Neither AAP nor Sidhu has approached each other,” said by Singh in Chandigarh.He further added that “There is hardly any time left in the current term of the assembly. We will fight the 2017 election on all 117 seats.”
Among all the speculations, Sidhu had kept silent regarding his move from Bharitya Janta Party to Aam Aadmi Party, “which is looking to repeat its stellar performance of the 2014 Lok Sabha election in the upcoming Assembly polls.”
In the 16th Lok Sabha, 4 AAP members are there Harinder Singh Khalsa, Bhagwant Mann, Sandhu Singh and Dharmveer Gandhi.
