In Tamil Nadu, review of nominations begins

7,136 nominations analysis begins for the May 16 Assembly polls which was filed by candidates of various parties that includes top leaders like AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa and DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi.

According to the Election Commission, out of 7,136 nominations that are filed, 6,343 men are there and 789 women are there and 4 of them are from the gender third.

234 Assembly constituencies nominations had ended and 2nd of May is last date for the withdrawal.

On May 16, polling will be done and on May 19  the votes are taken up for counting, where the winners of a tough multi- cornered fight will emerge up.

In Chennai , from RK Nagar  Jayalalithaa will be contesting whose seeking another successive term. From his native place, Thiruvarur  Karunanidhi will be contesting again.

Other big names that are contesting for the polls are  Vijayakanth (Ulunthoorpet),  DMDK founder ; Anbumani Ramadoss (Pennagaram), PMK leader ;  and Thol Thirumavalavan, the VCK founder who is fighting for the polls
from Kattumannarkoil.
