Jayalalithaa Introduces Four More Ministers In Her Cabinet


Jayalalithaa became Chief minister of Tamil Nadu for the fourth time , recruited four more ministers, taking the numbers to 32.G Baskaran, Sevvoor S Ramachandran, Dr Nilofer Kabil and P Balaikrishna Reddy were sworned by K Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu at the Raj Bhawan in Chennai.

Appointment of Nilofer Kabil’s as minister of labour is due to the demands made by Muslim for “a face” in the state Cabinet.Baskaran is minister for Khadi and Village Industries Board and Ramachandran has been appointed by Hindu religious and charitable endowments.Nilofer Kabil is the labour minister and Balakrishna Reddy will be managing the animal husbandry portfolio.

AIADMK had won a second five-year term which is led by Jayalalithaa, winning 134 seats out of the total 232 Assembly seats.Jayalalithaa’s Cabinet has 12 former ministers and 13 new faces.Jayalalithaa became Chief minister for the second time and includes shutting down of over 500 government owned liquor shops and waivers on farm loans.Jayalalithaa, AIADMK Chief is also known as ‘Amma‘ by her supporters and has promised to provide 100 units of free power to each household.
