Stalin to be the leader of opposition in Tamilnadu

Stalin’s promotion is not ideal promotion but its a big step nonetheless. In Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, serve as the Leader of oppostion , if everything goes fine.

DMK’s newly elected legislators have elected him as the leader of the DMK legislature party making way for his promotion.

In the recent state election, DMK had won 89 seats, however Jayalalithaa won the recent election , who defeated a 32-year record in Tamil Nadu to become the first Chief Minister to be re-elected for another term.

Out of total 232 seats , AIADMK won 134 seats. DMK won 89 which is a huge improvement upon its unlike 2011, where it got 23 seats only.

Stalin was elected as leader of his party’s legislators or state legislators. Until 2006, Karunanidhi was the leader of opposition when DMK was the main opposition party. In 2011 elections, DMK became the main opposition party and Vijayakanth the Opposition leader.

Ever Since 1996 his father chose him over MK Alagiri (older brother) as his political successor , Stalin and his base of supporters have been waiting for him to be announced as the DMK’s possible Chief Minister. However, before the election results were declared his father, Karunanidhi, said that if DMK won, he would head the government. Karunanidhi is 93 years old.

In 1989 , Stalin, won his first Assembly election, is now starting his sixth consecutive term as a state law-maker.

Jayalalithaa took oath in a green sari (an accepted superstition of Jayalalithaa),  Stalin was sitting in the 16th row and ”inciting” his father to allege a schemed insult by Jayalalithaa to the future  leader of the opposition.
