500 Women-only Polling Booths To Set Up In Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar administration has setup 574 polling booths meant to serve women-only voters in the locality in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls starting from February 11. Announcing the decision, District Magistrate D K Singh said that these booths have put up in six Assembly constituencies in the Muzaffarnagar district.

He said that over 19.12 lakh women voters would cast their franchise in Uttar Pradesh elections. 165 of these pooling booths have been setup in Muzaffarnagar constituency, while Budhana will have 123. Similarly, the administration has decided to set up 83 women only booths in Charthawal, 90 in Purkazi, 65 in khatoli and 57 in Miranpur constituencies in the district.

He added that measure is being taken to ensure that every woman vote should cast their vote without fearing of anything and in full comfort during Uttar Pradesh elections. Adequate security measures will be taken to ensure voters safety on the polling booths.
