AAP Won't Contest UP Assembly Polls, Decides To Go For Municipal Polls

AAP has finally announced its decision regarding 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections. In a meeting, AAP decided that it will not contest upcoming assembly elections. Party will contest the municipal polls next year.

A senior party leader said that this decision was taken because the party was not able to concentrate on Punjab polls. Party’s chances are better for Punjab elections.

A senior AAP member said that it was decided that the party will not contest the upcoming 2017 assembly elections. But they will contest the important municipal polls in 15 major cities of Uttar Pradesh. Out of the total 15 cities, 6 of them are in western part of the state. In the western part of the state, they have a good chance.

As per the sources, AAP is a small party with resources that are limited. They cannot even think of contesting in so many elections at the same time. Instead, there strategy is to focus on states where they have a good chance. They are going to share major part of there resources into campaigns of Punjab and Goa. In both states, they have a good chance.
