Akhilesh Not Ready To Allow Swami Prasad Maurya in Samajwadi Party

Samajwadi Party is “dropping hints” that Swami Prasad Maurya, former BSP leader “doors are open” for him in the party . Akhilesh Yadav , Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister described Maurya as “the right person in the wrong party”.

“The fact that Swami Prasad Maurya was the right person in the wrong party has been amply proved,” Mr Yadav said, a day after the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly quit BSP accusing its leader Mayawati of auctioning party tickets for the 2017 Assembly election.

Akhilesh Yadav told the reporters after a state cabinet’s meeting.

“Maurya is a strong leader. We have good relations. It is good that he left BSP,” Mr Yadav said.

Though Akhilesh Yadav said that it was Maurya to decide which party he would like to join, rumours are that he could be “inducted” into SP and might even get a berth in the council of ministers when it is expanded .

“Where he will go, it is up to him to take a decision,” Mr Yadav said to repeated questions on whether Mr Maurya would join the ruling party and get a ministerial berth.

Maurya said attacking Mayawati, BSP Chief that the tickets are being openly “auctioned” on a huge scale by Mayawati . She is not making the right candidates choice . Tickets are not only on sale in BSP but they are also being auctioned.

Maurya said that he was feeling “suffocated” in BSP and cannot continue in BSP any longer.

Mayawati said after Maurya’s annoucement that Maurya was a “habitual party-hopper” and she would have removed him within a few days for demanding tickets not only for him but also for his son and daughter, BSP does not promote this kind of politics.
