Badal Asks Apology From Kejriwal For Hurting Religious Sentiments

AAP using the image of Golden Temple on its manifesto cover with its poll symbol broom overlap on it for the upcoming elections.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister said it “amounts to desecration of the holy book” and asked an “unconditional apology” from AAP.

He called Arvind Kejriwal, AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister,his team as “mentally sick”.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal president told in a press conference that Kejriwal and his team have “stooped to a very low level” and needed an unconditional apology from Kejriwal.

“Kejriwal is not even aware of the culture of Punjab,” Mr Sukhbir said, adding, “AAP has no respect for any religion. Kejriwal only sees political conspiracy whenever any action is taken against him or any of his team members.”

He added that AAP has committed violation of the holy book by overlapping its election symbol on the manifesto. He condemn these mentally sick people for overlapping a broom’s image on that of the Golden Temple.

Sukhbir said that the investigations were going on when he was asked about investigations of “incidents of sacrilege” committed in Punjab.

“Police are doing their job and the guilty will not be spared,” he said.

AAP is “destroying” Punjab traditions, Sukhbir demanded apologies from Kejriwal and his party men Ashish Khetan and Sanjay Singh to Punjabis.Khetan had said that AAP’s manifesto was “the Bible, Gita and Guru Granth Sahib” for him.

“With Khaira joining us, BSP has been weakened in the Doaba region,” said Mr Sukhbir, adding that the party high-command would take a final call regarding whether to field Khaira from the Phillaur reserve seat or not in the 2017 Assembly polls.

SAD received advantage with Baldev Singh Khaira, senior BSP leader of Punjab joining the party, along with his supporters.
