Sheila Dikshit said that Congress will contest upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections alone and will not form alliance with any political party.
She added that assembly elections results will surprise everyone and the Congress will form the next government in the state.
When she was asked whether she will contest the elections, she said that on this issue a decision was yet to be taken.
She added that the people of the state are fed up with the politics of the BJP , SP and BSP. Sheila Dikshit said that the people are now looking towards the Congress with hope. Only Congress can lead to good governance and development in the state.
“We will seek people’s support on development plank,” she said.
Attacking SP government she said that Uttar Pradesh is having lawlessness and communal riots. She blamed the SP for having power and water shortage in the state.
She added that the Party will announce its candidates for the assembly elections at the appropriate time.
Few leaders from other parties including Waseem Ahmad, a retired Indian Police Service official joined the Congress. He said that it was a secular and a progressive party.
