Soon after congress announced the inclusion of Prashant Kishor as its campaign leader in Uttar Pradesh, the samajwadi party think tank also came into action. The samajwadi party’s top management has decided to call upon Steve Jarding who is a world renowned political strategist and a Harvard professor to lead its political campaign in the state.
Prior to this project, Steve Jarding also served as a political consultant and campaign manager for the democratic party in the United States of America. Although it is not the first time that the Samajwadi party had sought his expertise in fact the party has been constantly been in touch with him for advise on several matters but this is the first time that they have hired him to cover the entire political campaign and lead them to victory yet again. Before shaking hands with Samajwadi supremo Akhilesh Yadav, Steve Jarding had also served the democrat’s presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, former US vice president Al Gore and español prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
To begin his conquest as a political strategist, Steve Jarding suggested some changes in the way Samajwadi Party used to endorse its social welfare schemes. He advised to bring a well known face in Vidya Balan to promote Samajwadi party’s pension program. He believed that even most of the beneficial of the scheme were not aware weather its a scheme offered by the central or the state government. He also suggested to boost the publicity programs for several other schemes that the Samajwadi party had initiated. In an interview to a daily newspaper Steve Jarding said that Akhilesh Yadav has an impressive connect with the youth and people in rural regions of the state look up to him as a great youth leader.
Jarding is planning to conduct a series of surveys to gaze the mood of the people in several constituencies. Based on the results, Jarding may also train the candidates on how to communicate with people from constituency to constituency. Even though the surveys are still going on but as per initial reports, Akhilesh seems to be quite popular in most of the constituencies and is considered as a leader with a clean image.
It would be interesting to see how Steve Jarding would deal with the speculated feud within the Yadav family. Although both Akhilesh Yadav and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav have denied the existence of any such rift in the family; Mulayam Singh’s latest statement that “People have accepted Akhilesh Yadav as the CM is only because he is his son” says that all in certainly not well.
